I've received a lot of positive feedback about my spice mix.....thank you all. Thanksgiving was great, aside from the traditional courses, this year I also made duck curry.....it was delicious. I'm adding a couple of new recipes on my website, so be on the lookout. It's been a while since my last blog...sorry to all my friends. I was in Europe for 2 weeks and I didn't expect to be cooking over there but lo and behold....I made chicken curry... twice. Having cooked curry in another country made me realize the importance of my Kama Sutra Gourmet Curry Powder. From now on, I will always carry a couple of bottles just in case. I was forced to buy a store brand and it was ...not that great...okay it was terrible. As soon as I unpacked, I placed a couple of bottles in my suitcase. Who knew that you don't leave home without your Kama Sutra Gourmet Curry Powder.

And to you anonymous...who knew that chicken curry was an aphrodisiac! I'm glad I was a part of your evening...so to say.

I've been receiving a lot of positive feedback from my recipes, thank you. A couple of things to mention about my recipes. When I cook, I like to make a lot of food....why not right? My recipes will serve about 6 people very well. You can always have leftovers for the next few days. Curry keeps very well in the fridge. And...the flavor intensifies. I take my leftovers to work and have it for lunch.

As you get used to cooking my recipes you will find a pattern in the way a lot of the dishes are made. Pretty soon you will be able to cook your favorite dishes by heart! Until next time...

Cooking Clean

My friends are always asking me why my curry dishes taste different from traditional Indian restaurants. The answer is...I've formulated a very unique pleasing "crossover" blend of spices. I say "crossover" over because I've had dinner guests that were not too fond of curry. And after eating my curry, they said "wow that was good...what was that?"

I also try to cook very clean. I only use organic meats, fresh vegetables and always, always extra virgin olive oil. I once read that you should never use olive oil when cooking any curry dish because it will alter the taste of the curry. I guess I proved them wrong....I'm not quite sure because my friends and I love the taste. Hmmmm maybe that's the secret ingredient.

Dinner Party

I had a dinner party this past weekend for 6 friends. I featured chicken curry, ground chicken curry and fish curry. These dishes are great for people who don't eat red meat. You'll find that there are a lot of vegetarian dishes using Kama Sutra Spices. As I progress with my site I will feature more vegetable dishes. Feel free to request any particular dish and I will find a way to spice it, curry it and make it delicious.

kschmidt14, you're probably a superstar in your own right! As far as rinsing the meat, I do this for 2 reasons. First, for cleanliness. Second, for extra juice (sauce). If you don't want any extra juice, wash your meat first, then cut in cubes or strips.

First Time's a Charm!

This is my first blog ever, so please understand if I don't show proper blog etiquette. Let's begin with.... I was born in the Fiji Islands. I'm Indian and I love Indian food...very appropriate. Indian food from Fiji is quite different from Indian food from India. And when it comes to my food, it's just a little bit more different. Almost every Indian person's curry powder is different. Everyone makes their own blend of spices to form curry powder. My friends, co-workers and sisters all agree that my blend is consistent and very pleasing.

Included with every recipe is the Kama Sutra Edge. This is helpful information about what you can expect, variations and all around helpful hints that may occur during your cooking. Please feel free to share with me any questions, comments or advice about any of the recipes.
